For close to 4 decades, BAC- a non-profit organization has been operating with the sole purpose to facilitate the development of aquatic sports across Karnataka & India, while making our mark on the national and international stage. A great visionary & eminent Industrialist late Mr. Neelakanta Rao R Jagdale, who had been instrumental in putting Indian swimming on the world map. Mr. Jagdale’s passion for swimming and philanthropic activities was well known.
Ever since its inception, BAC has been the vanguard of popularizing aquatic sports in the country. Our programs include two ends of the spectrum: low cost training to beginners as well as the “Elite Swimmers training”(a state-of-art training program meant for top aquatic professionals). The reach and efficacy of our programs are evident from the large number of children and adults who have been imparted with basic skills of swimming by us (over 175,000 since 1986)
The feats of our alumni – we proudly count no less than six Olympians and five Arjuna awardees along with numerous National and International level competitive swimmers who have brought great laurels to the State and the Country. Sri. Pradeep Kumar, National Swimming Coach of India, Dronacharya Awardee (2016) bridged the gap between goals and accomplishment and played a pivotal role in the careers of over 130 international BAC swimmers for over 3 decades and is currently our Mentor.
These have made BAC not only the largest aquatic training centre of its kind, but also one of the most prestigious in the whole country. The centre has been recognized as a training centre for the talented swimmers selected by Khelo India under many of its programs. BAC is one of the very few Khelo India certified aquatic centres in the country. We may point out with modesty that all this has been achieved without any underlying revenue motive and has been made possible by the generous support of various organizations and philanthropists.
BAC is now on a mission to enhance its infrastructure as a world class leading aquatic centre to strive towards holistic individual development as a part of its MISSION BAC360:

In the 2020-21, BAC accomplished two of it’s vision:
- 10 lane 50m FINA – Olympic standard pool
- 8 lane 25m temperature controlled teaching pool
The contribution to this project qualify for deduction:
- Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, vide 80G exemption number: ITBA/EXM/80G/2019-20/

We request organizations to support this cause in the process of building a healthy Indian Community where BAC will be better equipped to promote swimming as a hobby as well as promote healthy life styles. The new pool will provide public access at highly subsidized price to all sections of society and therefore bring public health through swimming. BAC will also, where allowed and possible, highlight the sponsor brand alongside events and at competitions where BAC will participate.
